IROSA Lift for Transport

Technicians assist a crane to lower a pair of International Space Station Roll Out Solar Arrays (iROSA) onto a platform on Tuesday, Aug. 11, 2026, inside the Space Systems Processing Facility at NASA’s Kennedy Space Center in Florida. The iROSA are being prepared for delivery to the space station aboard SpaceX’s Dragon cargo carrier on the company’s 35th commercial resupply services (CRS-35) mission to the space station. iROSA is a new generation of solar arrays that roll open in space and is more compact than previous arrays while providing the same amount of power. With six similar arrays already in place on the station, the final pair will complete the power system upgrade for the orbiting laboratory.
